Window Treatments

Window treatments in a home office do more than finish the room. The right blind or curtain controls screen glare, keeps the room comfortable on sunny afternoons and gives you privacy if your desk faces the street.Think about where the light falls on your screen. Roller and Venetian blinds let you fine-tune light through the day and take up little space, which suits a desk pushed up against the window. Day and night blinds combine sheer and solid bands for flexible control. Light-filtering curtains soften harsh sunlight while keeping the room bright, and thermal or blackout linings help in rooms that overheat or get chilly. If the office doubles as a guest room, blackout fabric is worth having. Measure the recess carefully and decide whether the treatment sits inside or outside the frame before you buy.For more layout thoughts, see our home office ideas or browse home office soft furnishings.
