Candles & Holders

Candles and holders in the hallway set the tone for the whole house. A pair of candlesticks on the console table or a cluster of tealights on the windowsill makes coming home feel warmer, and the first impression for guests is cosy rather than functional.Hallways are often narrow and busy, so stability matters. Weighty metal candlesticks and holders with a wide base are less likely to be knocked over by coats and bags. Glass tealight holders, in clear or coloured glass, throw a lovely flicker of light onto walls, and birdcage designs keep the flame enclosed. Taper holders come in different sizes, so check the candle diameter (often around 2.3cm) before buying candles. Seasonal pieces, like autumn leaf or Halloween designs, are a fun way to mark the time of year. Never leave real flames unattended by the front door, and consider LED candles for draughty spots.More pieces are in hallway decorative accessories.
